Fort Collins City Council convenes twice on Tuesday, July 14 — a special meeting at 5:45 p.m. followed by a work session at 6 p.m.1.
The special meeting carries a single item: Resolution 2026-091, which would authorize the City Manager to sign the Broadband Equity, Access and Deployment (BEAD) grant agreement.
The signature is the step council's earlier action was waiting on. On June 2, council adopted Ordinance No. 054, 2026 on second reading, appropriating $1,511,782 in unanticipated grant revenue from the U.S. Department of Commerce's BEAD program — a pass-through grant managed by the Colorado Broadband Office with a required local match of $531,1672. That appropriation was made contingent on execution of the associated grant agreement and carries a sunset date of December 31, 2026 if the agreement is not finalized. The ordinance was unanimously adopted on first reading May 193.
The 6 p.m. work session — a discussion format with no formal action taken — has two items: a 2026-2027 Council Priority Update and a 2027 and 2028 Budget Update.
Both trace to decisions council made March 3. Resolution 2026-027 formally adopted the 2026-2027 Council Priorities the update will report against, and Resolution 2026-028 adopted the City's 2026-2030 Strategic Plan, which guides the 2027-2028 budgeting process.
