About FoCo Observer
What FoCo Observer is
FoCo Observer is an independent local-news source for Fort Collins and Northern Colorado. We are not affiliated with any government body. Our coverage is built on the public municipal record — council agendas and minutes, public-safety and incident logs, road and weather advisories, and other official sources — which we follow daily and compile into a plain edition for residents.
Who publishes FoCo Observer
FoCo Observer is owned and operated by Korvid Labs LLC, a Colorado limited liability company.
How we report
We report as a neutral observer of the public record. Three principles govern everything we publish:
- Every claim links to its public source. If a statement is not in an official record a reader can open and check, it does not run. No rumor, no anonymous tips, no “reportedly.”
- We do not name private individuals. People who appear in the records we cover — incident subjects, witnesses, residents — are kept anonymous by default. A name is published only with that person’s explicit, written permission.
- We observe; we do not editorialize. We summarize what the record says and point back to it, rather than arguing a position.
Some briefs — weather, air quality, road and lane closures, and wildfire advisories — are compiled automatically from official public feeds and are labeled as such on the page. They carry the same sourcing standard: each links back to the public feed it was drawn from.
Corrections & contact
Accuracy matters to us. If something we published is wrong or out of date, tell us: point to the item and what looks off, and we will check it against the original source and correct the record. Substantive corrections are noted on the item itself.
